The Kent Municipal Court has jurisdiction over the cities of Kent, Aurora, part of Tallmadge and Mogadore, Brimfield Township, Franklin, Kent State University.
The Portage Common Pleas Court has jurisdiction over all cities, villages and townships in Portage County. All felony cases are handled in that court after an indictment.
